Organisations from around Lancashire, including those working in education, social care, health, and charities have come together to lead the way in becoming a trauma-informed county.
Alongside the Lancashire Violence Reduction Network (LVRN), One Small Thing provides an opportunity to achieve the ‘Working with Trauma Quality Mark’ which recognises organisations who meet a robust, accessible, and supportive set of standards for working with trauma.
The quality mark has been created to compliment a growing awareness of the impact of adverse childhood experiences on individual’s lifestyles and well-being.
LVRN is calling on more organisations in the county to sign the Trauma Informed pledge.
Supt Justin Srivastava, Trauma Informed Lancashire lead at Lancashire Violence Reduction Network said:
“Working with One Small Thing has allowed us to recognise those organisations that have shown exceptional progress when embracing their trauma-informed journey.
These organisations have realised the widespread impact of trauma and are continuously working to not only acknowledge this, but to bring this into their policies, procedures, culture and practices to make a positive impact on people’s lives.”
